Hello, I'm BBD, and let me tell you why you should look at Pardes.
Pardes is one of those sites where I can honestly say that I appreciate all the work that the admin puts into it. It's a site where the admin pays attention to you, and takes almost any plot you want to run, and simply enables you. They wrap it into their history. They wrap it into the site, and in the end, it becomes almost a member run site in which the admin just add the final touches to involve everyone.
The atmosphere is relaxed. The admin isn't going to badger you all day long, and I can say that Cat is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. But, don't take my word about it. Spend a few minutes talking about her, and you'll see.
From there, I can say that I've had an enjoyable time with all the members who I have interacted with. We're still fairly new, and we've just had our first clutch. With that, came a brand new yellow mutation, and our first woman bronzerider. Just imagine, if all this happening in our first clutch, what could happen in the other. We just finished our Weyrleadership, and the season is changing. We'll likely have the coming dragon clutch in another month or two. That gives everyone enough time to settle in with a candidate and really explore what's been happening.
There's so much left to run and explore, and I think anyone could make Pardes their little niche if they gave it a chance.
However, I'll let the Advertisement written by Cat speak for itself.
--------------
Moreta's Ride failed.
That was a long time ago, and Pern has recovered since then. All you need to know is that scars linger: in the Pernese who have learned to live without dragons, in the ruins of High Reaches that still lie as they were, an abandoned plague-bed. In beleaguered Tillek Hold, forsaken in the face of Thread falling anew.
It is three turns into the Seventh Pass. Following a controversial decision that could kill thousands, the Weyrleader of Fort Weyr was assassinated. Now a small group of criminals, political refugees, and voluntary exiles have taken up residence in the mountains near Tillek. It is bitter cold, food is scarce, and Thread is merciless. The prognosis does not look good.
Will the Pardes Exiles dare return to quarantined High Reaches? Will they seek refuge in the unexplored Southern Continent? Will they ally with the other weyrs, or seek outright war, or simply perish?
The choice is yours.
What We Offer:
- Two different places to play: traditionally structured Fort Weyr, or build your own weyr from the ground up with Pardes
- An agile, highly adaptive plot: don't watch things happen, make things happen!
- The Major Arcana clutch hatched successfully, but produced a strange new sport color and... the first female bronzerider?
- With the death of golden Steriath, Fort Weyr is in a state of martial law, and the other weyrs are beginning to sense weakness...
- Loads of plot happenings!
