It was technically Serain's lunch break, but the boy hadn't been in the mood for the crowd of people that could usually be found in the dining hall. Instead, he had decided to go wandering, with a handful of meatrolls wrapped in a cloth in his pouch.
It was pleasant day outside, and he had just found a spot to settle, when he heard a sound. He wasn't sure what it was, or if he wanted to even investigate, and so he called for his firelizard.
The gold appeared from between, hovering as she waited to hear what Serain wanted from her. She was a very well trained firelizard. "Alright, Shine," the healer said. "Go see what made that noise, and if it was a person, let me know." They would likely be hurt.
Shine trilled an agreement and then flew off, seeking out the sound her human had heard.

The sound had been the strangled yelp of an idiot nearly breaking his fool neck. Siarryn was hanging upside down from a small ledge on the wall of the weyrbowl whimpering softly. It appeared he was mostly supported by sheer force of will- that and the sharp outcropping that appeared to have caught on his jacket, and a little further down, his belt. It was... not a very good position for him. He couldn't quite right himself, one arm was tucked into his chest and being protected like it was injured (it was) and while one leg was thrown over the ledge itself the other seemed to be unable to find purchase anywhere... and his tail was simply draped over his face uselessly as he tried to figure out what the shells to do.
"This was no' mah bes' idea, was it, girl?" He spat through gritted teeth, struggling to right himself with the uninjured arm and failing- the result was just him dislodging a bunch of rock and winding himself as a piece thumped him in the chest.
Bounty chirped at him, fluttering around him to try to help. There wasn't a lot she could do, however, so she simply tyrilled in a worried tone and tugged at a strand of his hair to try to do her level best to help.
"Oof- nah, Bounty, baby, don' worry. Jus' help me get down..." Sia wheezed, canting his head back to get a better look at how much further he had to fall. Seven, eight feet or so... painful but not ultimately life-threatening, he decided.
And that's when Gambit saw the new gold fire lizard coming, and rose to greet her, meeting her in the air and happily explaining the situation to her. She was pretty after all- and he'd be so happy to go with her to her human to bring him back to help his very silly person-bonded. The bronze flit ignored Siarryn's insistence that he NOT do that, and chirped at Shine, telling her in his distracted sort of way that his person did in fact need help, if she could?

Shine listened to the Bronze intently, and once he was done explaining things, trilled in agreement. His human did need help, no matter how much he tried to argue that he didn't. She flitted between, reappearing right in front of Serain.
"Well?"
The gold began to tug on Serain's sleeve, sending her the image of the boy hanging upside down. He couldn't tell if the boy was hurt or not, but it seemed as if he would need help either way.
Serain allowed the gold to lead him to the upside down hanging boy, and when he approached, he couldn't help but chuckle. It was such a ridiculous scene. "Need some help there, lemur boy?"

Sia did his very best impression of someone not being ludicrously trapped upside down in a rather interesting amount of pain. It was terribly unsuccessful. So he simply settled for glaring at the young man with as much dignity as he could muster while upside-down and eight feet in the air. Turns out it was actually a good amount, he was making a solid effort.
He was also getting dizzy.
"....don't call me lemur boy." He snapped, twisting and trying once more to right himself and fix all this. It failed, and he simply ended up right back where he began only more winded and disheveled looking.
"What're you laughin' at, kitty cat?" Sia said when he could breath again, giving dirty looks to his bronze flit and the gold who'd tattled on him. "Never see a man fall off a cliff an' get in a mess afore?" He flailed again. Still not helping anything.
So he folded his arms over his chest, promptly flinched and regretted that as his left arm was still hurting, wrist bent at an odd angle, and he made a quiet little noise of pain. "...ow. Right, kitty, maybe we preten' that didn' happen and I DO need help...hypothetically, what you gonna do about it? Not that I'm askin' for help, but...uh. I appear to be a bit stuck. So you know. You wanderin' by just in the nick of time, me not needing help... expedited an' what by your comin' along...you get what I'm sayin' here...?"

"Oh if you insist." He had only done it since he hadn't known his name, and the situation certainly felt as if it fit. Even some of the weyrbrats didn't get into situations like this.
He resisted the urge to chuckle as he watched the boy try to free himself, knowing better to step in. The boy was obviously wounded, and not just to his pride, but if Serain stepped in now, it wouldn't go over very well. Or at least he didn't think so.
However, once the boy implied that he'd be willing to be helped, Serain nodded. "I think I get what you're saying." As silly as it was. Of course, getting him down, was going to be a bit of a challenge. Hmm.
"How'd you get into this mess anyways?" Maybe if he knew that, he could figure out a way to help him down without them both ending up stuck.

Siarryn wnet a bright red that ran from his neck to his ears. (Although it may have been the blood rushing to his head.) "Right. So we're clear, yeah? This is... what'chacallit. Happenstance. Luck. Whatever. Help?" He vowed to himself to make very sure word of this didn;t get out and ruin his (self-imposed) stellar reputation. He was getting along very nicely with this really lovely lass in the kitchens, and she'd laugh him off if she ever found out.
"Oh, didn' you hear?" He said, as if it were perfectly normal to have a conversation whilst suspended from one's belt upside-down in midair. (Who knew? Maybe it was. On one of the moons or something.) "I fell off a bloody cliff, what does it look like?" He sighed, and tossed out his good hand in a helpless gesture. "I was up there-" He pointed to an outcropping further up, a nice wide ledge that was seeming perfectly suited for well... being climbed to and perched on- "But it's a lot easier to get up than it is t' get down. I might have missed my mark when I tried to jump over there-" He pointed to a different ledge, also reasonable enough if you were an idiot who'd try the ten foot jump/drop to it from his last handhold.
"I didn' make it. Banged my arm, and fell down. Meant to catch myself, but my arm don' work. Missed, and here I am. Luck."

"Right. Just like I didn't come across you until after you managed to get yourself down." The boy grinned. He shouldn't like this guy, but there was just something about Siarryn that amused him. "Let's see what I can do."
It was a pity that he was small, that would hinder the sort of help he could be, but Serain didn't think that the other guy would appreciate him running off and bringing someone else to help, so he'd just have to make it work.
Hmm. Perhaps. The ledge that the lemur was hanging from was certainly sturdy, and if he had a rope... That could work.
"Be right back. Don't go anywhere." He darted off, returning as quickly as he could with two coils of rope. The first would need to be tied around the ledge, and he stared at it for a moment. "Think you can tell your gold to help me? With her and mine, they can wrap the rope around the bit you're hanging off of, and then I'll climb up and tie it."
Then Serain would improvise from there.

"Right." Siarryn said, not entirely sure if the healer was mocking him or not, and deciding he didn't care.
"Oh, no, see I was plannin' on growin' wings an' flyin' away...!" Sia called out as he ran off, and sighed. "Where the shells between am I gonna go, Bounty?" He asked the flit, and shook his head. That was a bad idea, of course, and only served to make him dizzy.
When the white-haired boy came back, Sia waved an arm at him, expressing his distress at that last move. But he did agree, and whistled at Bounty. "Love, wan' t' help me? Bring that rope up to where we was, kay? Help the other flit there, bring the rope up."
Bounty seemed reluctant, but after a bit of further begging, she complied, taking the part of the rope offered and winging up with it to the ledge, doing as instructed and looping the rope around. Then she perched on the edge, poking at the rope curiously, and waiting for more instructions.
