It was silent.
There were no dragons feeding, for once. Eavla sat in the grass right outside the herd beast pen, pulling up handfuls of grass. It was a scarce half hour before nightfall- dusk was already setting in- and she'd spent most of the afternoon just sitting and watching.
There were a few other people about- mainly beast herders-
And then from the sky, a half dozen dragons. One of the wings returning from practice, no doubt. On the ground, were several candidates approaching. Apparently, she wasn't the only one curious. Or perhaps they were hoping to meet some of the riders.

Tsadi was really just moving with the group at first, but she didn't regret it when she saw the dragons. She was a little surprised when she glanced down and saw another girl, but she meandered on over, glancing down only just enough to watch her step. The other girl had candidate knots, so maybe talking to her was okay. She immediately sat next to her, eyes set firmly on the riders as she gave her greeting.

And then one of the girls sat down beside her. Eavla glanced over at her, noting that she had candidate knots. Well, she supposed it was understandable, maybe wise to stick together. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. Instead, she managed a shy half smile, nodded at her, and then just... sort of stared at her, distracted from the dragons.

It took a while for Tsadi to notice, frankly, because she was a little bit distracted watching the dragons. When she did, though, she was suddenly aware that maybe she'd made Eavla uncomfortable. She tilted her head with a small smile that she hoped would come off as kind, and spoke softly, "Are you okay? I hope I'm not bothering you."
