She knew she really wasn't supposed to be there. She should have been back with Kamryn gathering the last few marks and heading back to the caravan... like she always did.
Only, see, there was a dragon in the hold. She'd seen the Searchrider fly in, couldn't be anything else given the sudden dispersement of people and the whispers flying around. Because, seriously. Dragon. She'd never seen one except as a distant speck in the sky, so far above her head as to almost be unrecognizable from a flitter... with one so close?
Frankly, the girl had barely been able to finish her act. As soon as she'd been able, the girl had snatched her cloak and thrown it across her shoulders, tucking Salt away under the hood where he wrapped about her neck. The strange little blue chirped and settled down, mostly confused by the girl's sudden and somewhat uncharacteristic excitement.
Well, what could she say? Nazene might normally be the type to make fun of people who got all dreamy about things like this, but somewhere deep under all the layers of sass and sarcasm, she was also a girl who desperately wanted to see a real dragon up close just once.
The Holdless usually got sent off when there was a Search (and, in fact, she really wasn't supposed to still be there now) but... hm. Rules were made to be broken, or something. Not a philosophy Naz always lived by, but today she made an exception. She had her cloak drawn up to her neck, concealing her costume from the performance earlier, the hood tossed over her face, and she stuck to the back of the crowd, just trying to get within earshot to hear the riders speaking. Her tail dragged slightly, and she kept jumping, certain it was going to make her noticed. (Funnily enough, it just never occurred to her that trying to hide might just make her more noticeable. Oh well.) But Mostly?
She failed at any subtlety and stared at the dragons, gawking like ...well. A Holdless girl who'd never seen a dragon before in her life.
She should leave. She shouldn't be noticed, she should go back to the caravan and keep her head down. But... one more minute couldn't hurt, right...? Just... just a little bit longer. She wanted to see how a dragon searched someone, what happened. It was only for a little bit. Nothing to worry about.
Salt licked her cheek, and she put a fingertip on his muzzle. "Shh, you. You know how much trouble Kam will give me if anyone sees a Holdless here." She whispered.
